Easter Celebration Full of Smiles

The Easter celebration Sunday at Lake Lure was a day full of smiles! We are so grateful to have partners like United Cajun Navy – their crew did a great job preparing a wonderful event, and having the mules be a part of it was so special!

These mules have carried food, water, medicines, building supplies, military equipment, and so much more. On days like today their burden is light, and the mules only carry hope and smiles…but sometimes we wonder if that’s the most important thing they carry in these mountains.

These communities have been through so much. There’s a combination of three to four schools attending together here at the Lake Lure Classical Academy due to other schools still being uninhabitable. These children and their families have had their lives literally turned upside down, and days like today they can just smile and celebrate Easter. They can be reminded that there are many people who care about them.

Thanks to so many Mission Mules donors, we were able to share Easter treats, our mules, and reminders of God’s love for us all. He is Risen indeed!

We have such wonderful volunteers that share their time and made the day even more special!
