Disaster Relief Resource Wish List

At Mission Mules, we believe disaster relief begins long before disaster strikes. Being ready to serve means preparing in advance—building relationships, maintaining equipment, caring for our mules, and making sure we have the resources needed when the next call for help comes.

Our deployments have taken us into communities facing difficult circumstances, and each experience has reinforced one important lesson: the ability to respond depends on being prepared before the need arises.

Today, we’re looking ahead and sharing several important needs that could significantly expand Mission Mules’ ability to respond to disasters and help communities in crisis.

These aren’t simply items on a wish list. Each one would increase our capacity to get where we’re needed, move more supplies and animals, and keep our team, mules and horses prepared between deployments.

A Stock Trailer to Move More Mules

A larger trailer would allow Mission Mules to transport more mules when multiple animals are needed for a deployment. It would also be useful for training exercises, preparedness outings, and other activities that keep our team and animals ready to work together.

We are ideally looking for a 28–30-foot gooseneck stock trailer that can safely and reliably handle the demands of disaster-relief deployments.

A donated trailer could become an important part of Mission Mules’ long-term response capability.

Land for the Mules

Just behind our existing property are two parcels of 10 or more acres each that are currently available.

Having additional acreage would provide valuable pasture space where our mules could graze, exercise, and recover between deployments. It would also give Mission Mules room to continue preparing for future growth.

We’re open to possibilities. The land could potentially be donated to Mission Mules, or someone could consider a long-term-use arrangement that would allow the property to benefit the organization and its mission.

For our mules, additional pasture isn’t simply extra space. It’s part of keeping these animals healthy, conditioned, and ready to serve.

A Truck to Help Us Get Where We’re Needed

Disaster deployments can require hauling more than one trailer and transporting everything from mules and side-by-sides to equipment and supplies.

A ¾-ton, 1-ton or 450-class truck would make a tremendous difference in Mission Mules’ ability to mobilize.

If you or someone you know is preparing to replace a business or personal work truck, we’d love for you to consider donating the vehicle to Mission Mules rather than trading it in.

A dependable used truck could have a second life helping transport people, animals and equipment into communities that need assistance.

Truck donations are tax-deductible, and a donated vehicle could make a lasting difference in our ability to respond when the next disaster happens.

We’re Looking for Connections, Too

We know that not everyone has a truck, trailer or acreage to donate, and that’s okay.

Perhaps a business is preparing to replace a fleet vehicle. Maybe someone in your community has a stock trailer sitting unused.

Sometimes the greatest gift is knowing the right person.

That’s why we’re sharing these needs. We’re asking our supporters to help us connect the dots.

A conversation, a referral, a shared post or an introduction could ultimately put the right resource in the right place at the right time.

Preparing Today for Tomorrow’s Call

Mission Mules isn’t trying to predict where the next disaster will happen. We simply want to be as prepared as possible when the call comes.

A truck.
A trailer.
Additional pasture.

Each may seem like a simple resource on its own. Together, they could significantly expand our ability to deploy, care for our animals, and serve communities recovering from disaster.

We believe in praying for what lies ahead, planning for it, and preparing as best we can.

If you have a lead, a resource, a potential donation, or an idea that could help Mission Mules obtain any of these resources, please reach out to us. And if you know someone who might be able to help, please share this post with them.

We don’t know yet where these resources will come from. But we believe the right connections are out there.

We keep feeling like God is saying people can’t be blessings to this mission if we don’t share the needs. So, again, we follow what we feel He is asking for us!

Thank you for believing in Mission Mules, sharing our mission, and helping us stay ready to roll when we’re needed most.
